Cost of Treatment

Just like managing any other medical condition, treating low testosterone involves certain costs. Fortunately, TRT treatment is more affordable than ever. Many insurance plans help cover some or the costs associated with TRT, including clinic visits, lab tests, and medication.

Ultimately, the cost of TRT therapy is an investment in a more fulfilling life. While the financial aspect is important, it’s equally important to consider the value of feeling your best and living life to the fullest.

Factors Influencing TRT Cost

Type of TRT

Generally the most affordable option, testosterone injections typically cost around $100 to $200 per month for medication and supplies.

Topical testosterone gels fall in the middle range, typically costing between $200 and $500 per month. The price varies depending on the brand, dosage, and quantity prescribed.

Testosterone pellets tend to be the most expensive option upfront. The cost can range from $500 to $1000 per insertion, but they last around 90 days.

Dosage and Frequency

The required dosage and frequency of TRT can significantly impact the overall cost of treatment if you choose an option like gels or pills. Simply put, the more testosterone you need and the more often you need it, the higher the cost for these forms will likely be. However, with testosterone injections, you are able to pay a set monthly rate regardless of how high or low your specific dosage is.

Clinic or Provider

It’s standard practice for clinics and healthcare providers to charge fees for appointments, which cover the costs of providing services, including staff, facilities, and resources. These fees are typically transparent and communicated upfront.

Be aware of potential additional costs that might inflate your overall bill. Some clinics might charge extra for medication administration, supplies, or specific procedures. While some of these fees may be legitimate, make sure to inquire about them beforehand and ensure they are clearly explained and justified.

Insurance Coverage

Insurance coverage for TRT  can vary depending on your specific insurance plan. Many insurance policies do offer some level of coverage for medically necessary treatment of low testosterone.

Typically, insurance companies require a formal diagnosis of hypogonadism by a qualified healthcare professional. This usually involves a review of your symptoms, a physical examination, and blood tests to confirm low testosterone levels.

Once diagnosed, your insurance plan may cover some or all of the following:

  • Clinic visits to diagnose and manage your condition
  • Lab tests to measure testosterone levels and monitor your response to treatment
  • Testosterone replacement medications

TRT Costs and Fees at Low T Center

At Low T Center, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. That’s why we provide upfront and clear pricing for our testosterone treatment programs. With our straightforward pricing structure, you’ll know exactly what you’ll pay and when.

Initial Consultation and Testing

Getting started is easy. Just visit one of our Low T Centers for a simple blood test. If your initial test shows you qualify for treatment, we’ll schedule you for a second confirmation test and an in-person consultation with our provider, where you’ll receive your first injection.

First test cost: $25
Second test and first injection: $135

Medication Costs

Your personalized treatment plan begins with a telehealth consultation three days after your in-person visit. During this consultation, your provider will prescribe a one-month supply of testosterone in the form of four pre-filled syringes. This allows for easy self-administration and ensures you have the medication you need to start feeling better right away. We’ll also discuss the cost of your monthly prescription during this visit.

Typical monthly cost for injections: $105.50

Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-up

Around 5 weeks after starting treatment, you’ll have your first follow-up visit. This includes lab work at one of our clinics, which allows your provider to review your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. You’ll also receive your next injection during this visit.

We’ll continue to schedule routine labs and follow-up visits to ensure you’re getting the most out of your TRT. Initially, these visits will be scheduled every 5 weeks. As your treatment stabilizes, we’ll transition to an appointment every 3 months.

Follow-up visit and injection: $135

TRT Results Can Have Exponential Value

TRT therapy can have a significant positive impact on your overall quality of life. It can potentially reduce or eliminate many of the physical, mental, and emotional symptoms associated with low testosterone. These improvements can have a ripple effect on your self-esteem, confidence, and overall sense of well-being.

Higher energy levels and improved mood can allow you to tackle daily tasks with renewed vigor and enthusiasm, while enhanced mental clarity and focus can improve your performance at work and in your personal life.

Physically, TRT can increase muscle mass and boost your metabolism, helping you feel stronger and more fit. It can also reignite libido and improve sexual function, leading to a more satisfying intimate life.
