Diagnosis for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

When you visit Low T Center for a men’s health assessment, we’ll talk to you about symptoms that concern you, and we’ll also do a full blood panel. The blood glucose test, which is part of that panel, will tell us whether or not you have diabetes. You might have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes even if you are not experiencing any symptoms.

How to Treat Diabetes at Low T Center

We will work with you to prepare an individualized treatment plan. There are several components to a plan for diabetes treatment. These include lifestyle changes, insulin treatment and medication.

Managing Your Diabetes With Lifestyle Changes

Lifestyle changes can help you manage both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, but they may be particularly important for Type 2 diabetes since it is often linked to being overweight. An exercise plan that is appropriate for your individual situation and that you enjoy enough to stick to is important. Even walking regularly may be helpful.

What you eat is also important. A diabetes diet involves healthy eating, but there are specific elements that you need to be aware of in order to keep your blood sugar regulated. We’ll talk to you about the foods that are important for you to eat or avoid and what you can enjoy in moderation.

It is also important to manage your since there are links between hypertension and your blood glucose levels. We’ll discuss how to keep your in a healthy range.

At Low T Center, we’ll help create a personalized plan for lifestyle changes that works best for you.

Diabetes Treatment With Insulin

If you have Type 1 diabetes, you will need insulin treatment since your pancreas does not produce insulin. You might also need insulin if you have Type 2 diabetes. Medication may also help you with diabetes management.

Diabetes cannot be cured, but diabetes treatment can help you live a healthy life and manage the condition. At Low T Center, we want to create a treatment plan that works for you, and this means that we will follow up and make adjustments to the plan as needed. Whether you need medication, insulin and lifestyle changes to manage diabetes or adjustment of your diet and exercise regimen, we’ll keep working with you to make sure you are healthy and feel your best.

If you have been previously diagnosed with diabetes or we find that you have diabetes after testing, we can help. Make an online appointment today for a men’s health assessment at Low T Center, and we’ll get started on helping you feel better again.
