Testosterone Replacement TherapyDid you know there are natural ways to raise your testosterone levels? If you are suffering from symptoms related to low testosterone and a blood test indicates that you have low T, a doctor may prescribe testosterone replacement therapy. However, in addition to that, you may want to make lifestyle changes that can increase your testosterone levels. If you have not been diagnosed with low T, you may want to try some or all of these to help keep your testosterone at healthy levels. As a bonus, you will be less likely to develop other conditions as well.

Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is the foundation of a man’s overall health. Research has shown that men who have sleep issues are also more likely to have low testosterone. Getting enough sleep is critical to the proper function of hormones in the body as well as to overall health. Sleep is often not prioritized in our culture, and men may be depriving themselves of sleep even if they do not have a sleep disorder. Whether there are sleep issues that need treatment at a men’s wellness clinic or simply a need for an earlier bedtime, this is the first step in naturally managing testosterone levels.

Exercise

Studies have found that moderate exercise can increase testosterone levels. The activity triggers the production of the hormone. Furthermore, men who are overweight or obese are more likely to have low testosterone, and exercise can help with weight control. Men who are undergoing low testosterone treatment can supplement the treatment with regular exercise.

Nutrition

Good nutrition also plays a role in maintaining healthy levels of testosterone. In addition to testosterone replacement therapy, men who have low T levels should make an effort to eat foods with high levels of vitamin D, such as fatty fish like tuna. Magnesium, found in spinach, cashews and almonds, can help keep testosterone in the blood instead of binding with a protein.

Reduce Stress

Stress can cause higher production of the hormone cortisol which in turn reduces the body’s production of testosterone. The above behaviors can help with stress reduction, but men may want to take additional steps as well.
