Join Us in Celebrating Men’s Health Month This June

    Posted: June 3, 2019

Men’s Health ClinicDid you know that June is the 23rd annual Men’s Health Month? This means encouraging the men around you to take better care of themselves by scheduling regular visits to the Low T Center men’s health clinic, making healthier food choices or starting an exercise routine, there are plenty of things men can do to get healthier starting today.

    Raising Awareness for Men’s Health

The purpose of Men’s Health Month is to raise awareness about the need for men to take care of their health. The Men’s Health Network is a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. that was responsible for getting Congress to adopt the week before Father’s Day as Men’s Health Week, observed June 11-17 in 2019. The #ShowUsYourBlue campaign on June 16 encourages men and women to wear blue to show support for the health of men. Heightened awareness may encourage men to visit a men’s health clinic and to make lifestyle changes to reduce their likelihood of developing disease.

    Encouraging Men’s Health

Men’s Health Month is a great time for men and women both to help other men start healthier habits. It can also be a time for men to resolve to pay more attention to their health.

Getting a men’s health assessment can provide a baseline that doctors can use to measure changes in blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, and more. Men can also be screened for common conditions at a men’s health clinic.

Men can use the great summer weather to start getting at least a half-hour of exercise a day. Loved ones can encourage them by buying them time at a gym or joining them in physical activity.

    Why Men’s Health Matters

Men have a life expectancy that is five years shorter than that of women. They have a higher likelihood of death from heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and many other conditions. Men are also insured at lower rates than women.

Families are healthier when men are healthier. Men making healthy choices can serve as important role models for their children. Men have a tendency to neglect their health, and this neglect can lead them to being unable to provide for the very family they most want to protect.

Men’s Health Month is a great time to get checked for common issues like low T, sleep apnea, hypertension, and other conditions. Find out more information about treatments like TRT and book an appointment by visiting the Low T Center online today.
